WAHOO — Lincoln Lutheran knew that it was going to take a special performance to come out of Tuesday’s triangular at Bishop Neumman undefeated, but even the Warriors weren’t prepared for the show Marriah Buss put on.

In a triangular that featured three of the top four teams in Class C-1, Lincoln Lutheran came out on top.
The No. 3 Warriors, behind the play of Marriah Buss, posted a 25-16, 26-24 win over No. 4 Omaha Concordia, then outlasted No. 2 Grand Island Central Catholic 25-20, 21-25, 25-13 Saturday at Grand Island Central Catholic.
“GICC Triangular: No. 3 Lincoln Lutheran again showed why it might just be the class of Class C-1 competition this season by defeating both No. 5 Omaha Concordia and No. 2 Grand Island Central Catholic in impressive fashion.
A 25-16, 26-24 win over the Bulldogs in the first match of the day gave the Warriors some momentum and they used it to beat GICC in three sets, 25-20, 21-25, 25-13 to move to 3-0 this season.
Marriah Buss had 22 kills against the Crusaders to continue her impactful start to the 2018 campaign. Buss also tallied 18 kills in the Warriors’ win over Concordia.”

Last season, a young, upstart Lincoln Lutheran team burst onto the volleyball scene with a dynamic offense and sound passing. It ultimately led to a third-place finish in an absolutely loaded Class C-1 field.
